Animated Weapon!
So, I modeled a weapon the other day, as shown in the previous devlog post. I really like it and probably won't change much to the design overall.
Today and yesterday, I worked on animating the blades in Blender, the tree-looking things aren't going to show in the game and I don't even know if I set them up "properly" but either way, it works!
The first draft of the animation was not smooth and it looked awful honestly. I wanted it to be smooth, but it was far from it. I asked on Reddit and got a tip for animating it smoothly. It's just as simple as typing "#frame*2" and I got the speed and smoothness I wanted. Previously, I had it rotate 90 degrees at a time for like 20 frames. It was okay at best. This new method doesn't really need a specific frame amount to work, which is really helpful. It kinda just goes.
Now, I just need to figure out what the alternate fire will be. The blades will spin and chop on a left-click, but what about the right-click fire? I don't want to just rip off Painkiller (2004) and the Painkiller weapon, so I want something different instead of launching the blades. I am open to ideas too.
