Welcome to Torment


Work began on Project Torment when I opened Blender seriously for the first time and made the first weapon for the game. As of now, I'm calling it Butcher, but that may change later on. It's earned that name because of the blades on the front which will spin and chop at enemies. It was heavily inspired by Painkiller (2004) and the first weapon in that game. Of course, the alternate fire mode will work differently, but the inspiration is there.

Speaking of alternate firing modes, each weapon in the game will have 2 firing modes, and only one weapon can be equipped/used at a time. This rule creates a class-like system instead of something like Doom where the player just has a whole arsenal on them at all times. I'm taking this approach to increase replayability, something I greatly value in games.
